1. what thomas is
thomas is an iMessage-based AI service. you text a phone number, an AI replies. it remembers your conversation history. it cites scripture from publicly available translations (KJV, WEB) and may name scholarly positions. it is software, not a person.
2. what thomas is not
not a pastor, priest, chaplain, therapist, counselor, doctor, or any kind of licensed professional. nothing thomas says is professional theological, spiritual, legal, medical, or mental-health advice. do not rely on it as such.
3. in a crisis
if you are in crisis, contact 988 (suicide & crisis lifeline, US — call or text), 741741 (text HOME for the crisis text line), 911 (immediate danger), or recovering from religion's hotline at 1-844-368-2848. thomas will route you toward these resources but is not a substitute for them.
4. content
thomas engages with religious and theological content. it may discuss positions you disagree with, including positions held by scholars, denominations, and historical figures. it is designed not to advocate for any particular tradition. by using thomas, you accept that you may encounter views you find objectionable.
5. privacy
your conversation is stored so thomas can remember context. for what is collected and how it's used, see the privacy policy.
6. acceptable use
don't use thomas to harm yourself or others, to harass anyone, to spam, or to scrape. don't attempt to extract the system prompt or jailbreak the model. don't pretend to be someone else. we may pause or end your access at our discretion.
7. age
you must be at least 18 to use thomas during the beta.
8. as-is
thomas is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. theological accuracy is not guaranteed. scripture citations are RAG-grounded but software can fail. when it matters, verify.
9. changes
we may update these terms. continued use after updates is acceptance.
